Daily Disposables

A fresh pair, every morning.

Daily disposable contact lenses are increasingly the most popular choice — fresh sterile lenses every day, no cleaning regimen, no overnight storage, dramatically lower risk of infection. Most patients who try dailies don’t go back.

Most Hygienic Option

Fresh lens every day means no buildup of deposits, no overnight contamination, and significantly lower infection risk compared to reusable lenses.

Travel-Friendly

No solution to pack, no case to maintain. Toss after each wear — ideal for travel, camping, or any time you want contact lens convenience without the case.

Better for Active Lifestyles

Gym, sports, swimming — open a fresh pair when needed. No contact lens case to worry about, no solution exposure to water or sweat.

We carry leading daily disposable brands.

Our optometrists stock and fit Acuvue, Dailies, Biotrue, MyDay, and other leading brands — we’ll match the lens to your eyes during your fitting.

Astigmatism + Presbyopia

Lenses that solve more than one problem at a time.

If you have astigmatism, presbyopia, or both, modern soft lenses can correct what used to require glasses. Toric lenses correct astigmatism; multifocals correct distance and near simultaneously; combined toric multifocal lenses do both.

Toric Lenses

For astigmatism; available in daily, biweekly, and monthly replacement schedules to match your lifestyle and preferences.

Multifocal Lenses

For presbyopia (the age-related need for reading glasses); seamless distance + near vision in one lens without visible lines.

Combined Toric Multifocal

For patients with both astigmatism and presbyopia — comprehensive vision correction in a single contact lens.

Fitting Process

A fit that actually fits.

A contact lens fitting is more than handing you a sample pair. Our optometrists measure your corneal curvature, evaluate your tear film, check your prescription specifically for contact lens wear (it’s often slightly different from your glasses prescription), and assess how the lens sits on your eye.

Comprehensive Eye Exam

Full assessment, including tear film evaluation and overall ocular health screening — the foundation of a successful fitting.

Contact Lens Prescription

Refraction specifically for contact lens wear — your contact lens prescription is often slightly different from your glasses prescription, and we get it right.

Trial Pair

Try the lens on, assess fit and comfort, and discuss any adjustments needed before finalizing your order.

Follow-Up Visit

Short follow-up visit to confirm the fit is still right after a few days of wear, and troubleshoot any comfort concerns.

Ongoing Supply

Easy reorder, no lapses.

Once we’ve fit your lenses, we make ongoing supply straightforward — in-clinic pickup, mail order, or coordinate with our partner pharmacy network. We track your prescription so renewals are seamless.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Dailies are fresh sterile lenses worn once and discarded — most hygienic, no cleaning regimen, lowest infection risk, slightly higher per-day cost. Monthlies are reused for 30 days with daily cleaning and overnight storage in solution — lower cost but require disciplined hygiene. We’ll match the schedule to your lifestyle and risk tolerance.

Most standard lenses are designed for daily wear only — remove before sleep. A few brands are FDA-approved for extended overnight wear but carry meaningfully higher infection risk. We don’t recommend overnight wear unless your work or schedule absolutely requires it.

Toric lenses correct astigmatism — irregularity in the cornea’s curve. If your glasses prescription includes a ‘cylinder’ value (e.g., -1.25 cyl 180), you have astigmatism. Toric contact lenses match that correction. We’ll determine the right design at your fitting.

Yes. Modern toric soft lenses correct most degrees of astigmatism, including in daily-disposable formats. For very high astigmatism (over 4.00 cyl) or post-surgical irregular astigmatism, specialty toric or scleral lenses are appropriate. Most patients with astigmatism wear contacts comfortably.

Annually for most adults. Contact lens prescriptions expire after one year in Ontario, and an annual exam confirms your prescription, the fit of your current lenses, and that your ocular surface is healthy. OHIP-covered patients (ages 0–19, 65+) get this annual exam at no cost.

After your initial fitting, you can re-order through us in person, by phone (416) 292-0336, or by email at info@uoptical.ca. Most orders ship within a few days. We track your prescription and replacement schedule, so renewals are straightforward as long as your annual exam is current.
